Well - what's wrong with that? Isn't time a dimension?
No. When `scientists' describe a process by applying differential equations of `four dimensional co-ordinates', they fool themselves into thinking that physical events are time-reversible. That's not true.
Time is the universal long-term change of interaction of matter and energy.
That change is felt by organic life at cellular level.
Organic beings whose brains are so equipped can consciously 'measure' that change - subject to these limited variations.
Directionality "Arrow of Time" = continuing decrease in universal energy, increase in universal matter.
Cause of Time = UEF, enforcing matter bonding, inertial phenomena, energy transmission etc.
UEF intensity is changing. And we see its changing effects on matter, and on organic life, as 'time passing'.
Therefore 'time' is both the change in the cause of matter states, and the change in those states of matter.
All matter in universe is locked into 'time', subject to these limited variations.
We foolishly treated time as a dimension for two reasons:
i) we've only examined a tiny - fairly uniform - physical area of space-time;
ii) we've only examined a tiny - fairly uniform - sequential area of space-time.
And, fooled by uniformity, we've assumed that time is:-
i) equally synchronized in all adjoining physical areas of space-time;
ii) equally graduated in all adjoining sequential areas of space-time.
The errors resulted from two interlocked assumptions made by `science'. Assumptions so basic - and therefore vital - that they've never been questioned. These assumptions seem totally unjustified. [Go on then - justify them if you can!]
a) `science' assumed that Time is linear, that is, flat and even, moving at a steady rate;
ignoring the fact there is no sure way to measure or detect past rates of Time;
b) `science' assumed that the universal ratios of matter, energy, and electromagnetic fields - the so-called "constants" - are in fact constant over Time;
ignoring the fact that past changes of "constants" also mean false measurement of Time's past rates, and hence a false `age of the Universe'
Even a hero of ours seems to have been partly seduced by this chauvinistic
'snapshot' of time, in his book "The Emperor's New Mind" Chapter 7 :-
"All the successful equations of physics are symmetrical in time."
Why? Because they aren't complete equations: which would need to include the 'arrow of time' - the sequential diminution of space-time's energy - UEF intensity.
Mass has the effect of shadowing or attenuating UEF intensity, and electromagnetic movements have a biasing effect - even locally [see below and biogen/crystals,
if it's down try the reserve mirror site - same document
But scientists mistakenly think of time as a dimension when considering their results. Notably Einstein did, as many still do today.
Only chronic chauvinism makes us think that rate of change must always be regular and constant.
It now seems, counter-intuitively, that time passed very quickly indeed at the start of the Universe, because the largest rate of change of UEF intensity was happening. [See space/matter/thought]
Cause / "effect" of 'inflation'?
But don't scientists say that time travels at different rates in different scenarios?
For instance, doesn't time slow down for someone traveling at high speeds?
Isn't that the meaning of Relativity?
Time is a changing parameter of space and matter - not an extra dimension.
When we move at different velocities the atomic structures - smallest bits of our bodies - experience a forced change in the perceived rate of change of that space parameter.
At high velocities the perceived intensity of that parameter increases due to increased interaction with it. [See microtubules below]
Therefore the perceived rate of change of UEF is less. It is seen as smaller compared to UEF's perceived intensity - which is how all bodies measure it.
So a person / thing traveling at at high velocity perceives [see below] time as passing more slowly; perceiving this with every atom, proton and electron. This means that fast-moving persons or objects age less than a relatively static observer but they have also lived more slowly.
So you don't need farcical 'Minkowski geometry' to understand the "Twins Paradox".
Merely going away from Earth's shielding - into 'outer space' - increases our exposure to that space parameter: UEF intensity.
And that exposure to higher relative UEF intensity decreases cellular action. [See fertility.html and crystal.html and charge.html]
So our astronauts have 'aged' a little less than the rest of us, for both reasons outlined above.
But you could probably tell from the broadcast intercoms that they were also thinking a teeny bit slower.
That is what "Relativity" equations were trying to tell Einstein and his successors.

(in our universe - [w/ sequential decrease of UEF intensity]
Let's regard the surfer on the left as the whole material universe (yes we know he does). It 'exists' part-way down the sharp slope.
That 'leading edge' represents the present, actually an area [see below] of 'time' in the universe's changing state.
We're about halfway down the leading edge of the long-term rate of change of the parameter of Space that is UEF intensity.
"Incomplete" patterns of reaction in UEF intensity - electrons or oppositely time-biased positrons - will appear to travel backwards or forwards in time if their states are changed. [See below]
And they can only travel a permitted amount, roughly indicated by those arrows.
This means that differing parts of our minds & bodies are in slightly different time zones. But, because time is not a 'dimension,' we continue to function and to interact with the world, although we - as complex organisms - must have a fairly wide NOW, with our total consciousness spread out, say across a half a second or more. [We are, of course, unaware of this fact, selecting a small part of the brain's displayed input as "NOW".]
[ note: the human cerebellum - a primitive part of the brain, has relatively `fast' responses.
The `human' cerebrum, the "new brain" of higher animals, has a much slower and fuzzier `NOW']
Contrastingly, smaller & simpler life - the viruses, say - must live on a razor's edge, with their relatively instantaneous NOW accounting for their deadly fast invasion and mutation reactions.
Ie a virus sharply differentiates "causes" and "effects" which a human cell can only perceive as "probabilities" - due to that human cell having a fuzzier NOW.
Electrons - DEFINITION
An electron is time-biased. It will, if liberated from matter, travel towards least UEF pressure. Ie. FUTURE-wards.
[See 'C-P violation']
Partial UEF flow through a magnet is the reason - the only reason - for loss of parity. [See magnetism]. We see this in the movement of liberated (not forcibly ejected) electrons in beta decay in a magnetic field. They move towards the N pole of the magnet. Ie. away from S pole of nucleii.
It now seems that a small percentage of the UEF affected by interaction with matter will spiral preferentially through surrounding material - if that has the right atomic structure and spacing. We call such material 'magnetic'.
And that 'spiral' UEF travels through a magnet from 'South' to 'North' - therefore the magnet's N pole is at slightly lower UEF intensity.
[Don't forget Earth's poles are reversed in the lab. Our Earthly NORTH pole is actually a S pole of a magnet (or vice versa)]
The Earth's South and North poles therefore live just a little futurewards and pastwards (respectively) w.r.t the equator. And all points on the equator exist in the same approximate "time zone".
The same `time' polarity applies to the Sun or any other rotating mass;
see UPDATE - February 20, 2007 - "One pole of the sun is cooler than the other. That's the surprising conclusion announced today by scientists who have been analyzing data from the ESA-NASA Ulysses spacecraft."
Photons - DEFINITION
A "complete" UEF reaction-to-matter pattern - a photon - is free and 'unbiased'. Ie. it has both time biases within it (like a bubble with a core). Logic suggests that a photon looks outward to the "future".
In analogy [see radiation] the traffic 'bunch' (of UEF intensity) is taken as the center of the photon and empty road space is taken as the lead and lag edge. This means that high UEF intensity (PASTwards) is at the core of the photon].
Maybe facetiously: - does this explain the
aging effect of photon exposure? After all a photon impact delivers a double-time-trip to the recipient matter, which experiences a jolt of FUTURE - PAST - FUTURE.
And the more energetic the photon, the more traumatic the jolt.
No! - hard facts indicate that changing UEF intensity - if at a high enough rate and / or high enough level - simply changes or breaks molecular, cellular and atomic structures.
Known and forecast examples are crystals,
astronauts, airline passengers.
From all above you will see that talk of "time-travel" is based on misconceptions.
Most speculation about "time travel" is based on ignorance of the make-up of the Universe.
A common question: "If you went back in time, would there be anybody there?
Answer: "No, not you - nor a universe."
For we are part of time, as is all matter.
Later - a strange new question is posed:-
"Is there any form of `life' or `consciousness' that could be immune to, or shielded from, the effects of `time'?"
Yes - but only if a (fairly logical) extrapolation is accepted. Then there might well be patterns-of-energy that qualify as conscious life while being completely `non-material' in our universe's terms, which therefore might be unaffected - or affected differently - by the "passage of time".
Time Passing ?
Well, what about the effect of time passing slowly when we are bored or fast when we are occupied?
Scientists - if they considered it at all - said it is only an unreal subjective effect.
No. Animals with brains constructed like ours perceive time by 'physical' measurements of the rate of change of that parameter of space.
[Check Roger Penrose's microtubules in "The Emperor's New Mind"
(p/back) ISBN 0 09 977170 5 - O.U.P. 1989; or
V.A. Firsoff - "Somewhere at that indeterminate quantal level strange, unmapped forces seem to be at work and the ultimate control of life processes and of the processes of our minds may be vested in these forces - perhaps these forces _are_ the mind" - Preface "Life Among the Stars" V.A. Firsoff - London 1974]
It looks as if Penrose's microtubules or some such "quantum-sensitive" material does that measuring [see fertility.html#changes].
Whichever, it also does a lot more, probably being our mechanism for conscious appreciation of our surroundings and thoughts [see conscious &
nitefite].
UPDATE - New research finds that "brain change brings `extended time' change"
Here's REPORT from "New Scientist"
Note: the so-called 'quantum' brain processes are probably simple demodulations of UEF gradients, waves and intensities; perhaps accounting for some "extra-sensory" phenomena since UEF travels through all matter at f.t.l. speeds. [See - above and paranormal ]
At graduate school (Princeton) Richard P Feynman experimentally found that a particular mental exercise interfered with his 'time sense', and with John Tukey then determined that this applied to everyone, but in differing ways.
[See "Horizon" interview - producer Christopher Sykes www.sykes.easynet.co.uk or:- "The Pleasure of Finding Things Out" PENGUIN PRESS 2000 ISBN 0-713-99437-1]
So when 'nothing's happening' around us we feel the full impact of time passing because we can. The brain sensors have nothing else to do but to measure time fully.
But when surroundings are actively changing or when we concentrate mental or physical effort - the brain's busy doing more urgent analysis.
Then that changing parameter of space gets less measurement - physically less, and less often - by the busy brain.
Therefore time seems to pass quickly. For that busy brain is sampling less time.
Simple, isn't it?
Well. What about about "DEATH"?
i) 'time' creates effects in matter and electromagnetic phenomena;
ii) matter and electromagnetic phenomena create effects in 'time'.
[within our universe]
Our bodies are matter;
our minds are electromagnetic phenomena.
Sum up:
Time is not the tame `dimension' preferred by science: a line on a graph.
Space-Time is a `physical' effect, which can be likened to a dynamic wave-front, or "breaker" - the intangible face of which transforms us, the Earth and the whole material Universe with its continual subtle change: most probably `forming' / `re-forming' all protonic matter, perhaps billions or trillions or more times each `second'.
