IT'S ADVISABLE TO NOT TRANSMIT ELECTROMAGNETIC SIGNALS FOR S.E.T.I.
AND WE CAN'T EXPECT RECEIPT OF USEFUL ELECTROMAGNETIC SIGNALS EITHER.
WHY NOT?
EMR IS TOO SLOW / DIFFUSE FOR INTER-STELLAR COMMUNICATIONS
WE SHOULD EXPECT ADVANCED CIVILIZATIONS TO USE 'INSTANTANEOUS' & FOCUSSED UEF MODULATION ref-01
"A civilization very much more advanced than we will be engaged in a busy communications traffic with its peers; but not with us, and not via technologies accessible to us."
"Communication with Extraterrestrial Intelligence" - by Carl Sagan (ed.) 1973 p. 366
"Communication is a universal, but the use of radio is a parochial, when we go out into the Galaxy ... a radio signal will be about as useful as a smoke signal.
Communication evolves"

E = gamma-ray emitter
(or X-ray emitter)
If we are building a gravity-wave detector then any e.m.radiation emitter should suffice, but for detection of UEF communication, as very high speeds of (coded) modulation can be anticipated, a high sample rate is needed, hence the preference for (continuous) X-ray / gamma ray emitters
UEF modulation detector
An alternative
UEF modulation / gravity wave / mass detector
Calibration and simple test procedure coming shortly. Test uses Sun's activity, so proving f.t.l. properties of UEF.
That is, a variation will be detected up to eight minutes or so before event - probably coronal phenomenon - becomes visible.
A crude method measuring UEF-detection-of-mass.
Later - an alternative method of extracting fairly "slow" data carried by UEF is outlined at crystal
Latest - Dec. '06 - wide-band galactic ftl communication?

shows SETI Institute @www.seti.org/
may finally be incorporating UEF detector in search strategy.
"The privately funded SETI Institute is moving forward on a three-pronged effort to be carried out over the next two decades"
