If Raymond Dickenson was one of them, I cannot recall it. Since the beginning of this year, I've had over 180 unsolicited e-mail submissions, a forgotten number of phone calls, and an uncounted number of paper-mailed items (3+1/2 inch tall stack and growing); all unsolicited, and all beyond my time to review and respond to. I'm guessing that this equates to about 60 submissions each month. Keep in mind that this is in addition to the normal correspondence that I must conduct to run the BPP project. Given that it can take between 2-hours to 3-days to read, assess, and prepare a response to such unsolicited submissions, I estimate that I would need a full-time staff of about 3 people to keep up with this magnitude of correspondence. As you know, I do not have that. To address this problem within the limits of my current and planned resources, I am planning to create an electronic submission and evaluation database, accessible over the internet. I will pattern it after the evaluation form used in our NRA solicitation. When I am able to accept submissions, I will put a call on the Project website. The absolute earliest that such might happen is the Fall of this year, after I've had the assistance of a summer student to help me set up this database. By the way, last year, my volunteers and myself reviewed over 100 proposals and manuscripts that were solicited. That is my situation.
