Possible: that `There were Giants in Those Days'

Yes, as the binding-force of the Universe gradually
changes, and we're necessarily built of flimsier material
and on a distictly less cyclopean scale, it now seems
likely that in the dim, distant past - beings, perhaps
even ancestral human beings, were of a density to support
hugely more massive construction than is now feasible.

seems even the mainstream scientists are beginning to
notice: "c" and "alpha" are changing.

That's the two "constants" - the `speed of light' and the
`fine structure constant' of the Universe.

So many fables could be true of the past - and maybe of
the future also. For, equally as "giants" may have been 
possible ages ago, so we may have descendants who'll be
more ethereal than ourselves, maybe even `wing-ed' or
flighted.
