Suspended sentence for teacher guilty of 20-year sex terror

    A retired deputy head teacher who bullied and humiliated his young pupils
    has been convicted of indecently assaulting 23 boys at the school where
    he taught for more than two decades.

    Joseph Denley, 79, sexually abused seven to 10-year-old pupils in his
    classroom at Marazion County Primary School in west Cornwall, Truro Crown
    Court was told.

    The jury convicted him of 41 charges of indecent assault on 23 boys.
    It returned not guilty verdicts on four indecent assault charges. Denley
    was formally acquitted of three charges relating to two boys before the
    trial ended.
