WHAT USE IS RELIGION IN OUR SOCIETY (or in any society?)

 In UK the `religion' of the `country' was first claimed to be "Pagan" -
 actually the religions of the Celts (Kelts) and the later Saxons.

 [The collision of `Woden' and `Thor' is still evident in the split between
 England and Wales's half-day closing times: Wednesday for England, Thursday
 for Wales]

 Then the different little "kings" of Britain were `converted', by coercion
 or corruption of different types.

 After that the various religious `rulers' (`popes' etc.) began to fight over
 power, and some important people began to be burnt at the stake, for being
 of the "wrong" religion.

 This despite the fact they were all supposed to be "Christians".  The truth
 was - those important people were challenging for power: so they died. 

 -

 BUT - most people carried on as they had done since before "Christianity"
 had arrived. Because most people are decent and honest. Without "religion".

 -

 The "national religion" has changed quite a few times since then but one
 thing has remained the same - the ordinary people are still decent and
 still honest, unlike the `religious rulers' and princes and politicians
 who are always seen to be uniformly greedy, corrupt and pervert.

 -

 So we can see that "religion" is no use to the people of any country;
 the only times it's used is for slaughter, oppression and theft - by
 the ruling princes or the pervert priests.

 -

 If we look about we might notice the same thing happening all around
 the world.

 -

 But, strangely - real people don't actually believe in those religions
 [despite being devout church / mosque goers].  They just go along with
 the flow.

 And, of course, whenever there's a pogrom or crusade, the perverts,
 thiefs and murderers are all too ready to come out of the woodwork.
 Claiming to be "patriots" or even "religious activists" - but really
 just murderers, rapists and thieves.

 Conclusion: If anyone claims `religion' as a cause or reason, rather
 than decency, fairness or justice, then you know you're listening to
 a liar, thief, murderer or pervert.
