 "Derek Conway affair a danger for the Tories"

 The MP Derek Conway faces a possible police investigation and de-selection
 as a Tory Parliamentary candidate over £260,000 of taxpayer-funded payments
 he made to his two sons and wife, it has emerged.

 Amid growing concern over the secret employment of family members by MPs,
 the backbencher was on Tuesday suspended from the Conservative Party by
 David Cameron

 The disgraced Tory MP Derek Conway will not be investigated by police,
 Scotland Yard said today.

 The Metropolitan police said it did not believe it was "appropriate" to launch
 an investigation into Conway, who was suspended from parliament for employing
 his student sons as researchers at the taxpayers' expense.

 `Perceptions' note:

 Readers, even English readers, will be asking "Why is the thief Conway
 not arrested and prosecuted?". They can be forgiven for not knowing about
 English power structures - in Parliament, the `Intelligence' agencies,
 senior Police and in the judiciary.

 Conway is only a typical example - as an MP (congress-man) in Shropshire
 which, along with Wiltshire (both `Conservative' counties) and some northern
 (`Socialist') enclaves, has a long history of local gov't corruption, fraud
 and abuse of local gov't (and police) powers, he was involved in a longrunning 
 case of fraudulent misappropriation of road funds - the biggest cash pot in
 easy reach of criminals in office.

 No-one has been prosecuted, or even investigated for the massive embezzlement
 of Shropshire tax-payers' money and national public funds - Why?

 i) The criminals are prominent councillors, judges & magistrates, and also
 (successive) senior policemen, who have inherited the profitable fraud and
 have passed it along to their successors.

 ii) Conway (the thief MP), while known to be incompetent (or just negligent)
 as an MP, was closely connected to the `Intelligence' agencies - at the time
 involved in CIA-like fraud, drug-running and sex-abuse (including pedophile).

 As a result he rose to power as a "Whip" - a party enforcer of votes in times
 of possible revolt.  That power lies in secret knowledge acquired about the
 hidden crimes of other MPs: usually fraud, sex-abuse (mostly pedophile but
 not exclusively) and hard-drug peddling and use - criminality which is common
 amongst the lawyer-judge class who make up the majority of Parliament.

 SO you see a known thief, with a long history of corruption, still in office
 as an MP (congressman), still drawing a large income from public funds, still
 `entitled' to take huge allowances from public funds, and still expecting to
 retire with a millionaire's pension, also from public funds.

 And you ask - "Why?"

 Because that thief MP knows where the bodies are buried.

 For maybe two or three decades Conway has carefully collected evidence of the
 secrets of his fellow MPs and their sponsors.  He therefore knows which Ministers
 (and Prime Ministers?), top civil-servants, judges, police-chiefs, landed `gentry'
 (Dukes and suchlike) and especially Press barons, BBC bosses etc., have skeletons
 in their closets which they daren't allow to be seen by the public.

 Conway, a known thief, is therefore immune to prosecution and retains public office
 (and the power to take tax-payers' money whenever he wants).

 So much for "Western Democracy" and "The Rule of Law" in UK - and I suspect the
 situation isn't much different in the USA and (some) European countries.
