I'll answer your questions as they come and as briefly as I can, but the answers have footnotes - they cover some messy areas. Would like the answers kept `entire' as possible - so if there's two alternatives keep them together. --- Q1 - "wonder if you think there might have been life of any type on the other planets or if we might find any?" A - I tend to go with Prof. Chandra Wickramasinghe's opinions on `seeding' of planets with organic materials. Which probably means that all or most solar system planets received a similar `seeding' during that early epoch. Also, we have to remember, as he pointed out (in that interview), that Earth receives a continuing rain of about 100 tons per day of cometary debris, and it'll be more for larger planets. So basic life-forms could be expected to exist wherever planetary or moon conditions allow, possibly as `extremophiles'. footnote 1 www.perceptions.couk.com/panspermia.html#this1 Although NASA (by which we might read Gov't / CIA) don't seem ready to admit the existence of other life and have maybe even denied evidence already - see the 1976 Viking Lander experiments. But there's one case, Mars, where the evidence says higher life could have established itself when Mars was a moon of a much larger planet, heated by inner gravitational tides, with an atmosphere and oceans all protected by a strong magnetic field derived from rotation around the primary. That primary is likely to have been Jupiter or Saturn but other large - gas-giant - planets can't be ruled out. footnote 2 - see www.perceptions.couk.com/uef/mars.html for the `geology' evidence of Mars being a captive moon of a much larger planet for most of its earlier existence. Tom Van Flandern also presents compelling evidence. I think the only way Mars could've got where it is, and bearing that large scar of the Valle Marineris, is a fairly cataclysmic impact from a colliding large body, maybe of a Mars, Earth or Venus size. Sadly that impact and subsequent ejection from its local `habitable zone' orbit as a moon would have deprived Mars of its atmosphere's protection and also, eventually, of its oceans. Some evidence seems to say there was a higher form of Martian life which looked surprisingly human - either by parallel evolution from meteor seedings or, much more likely, by transfers of humans or proto-humans between Earth and Mars. The evidence is overwhelming, but could indicate either: i) that UFOs have been arriving and landing since the 1940's or maybe much earlier, and that some have occupants while others may be autonomous entities - distinctions between mechanical and biological are blurred here; OR ii) that there's been a huge and sustained campaign to fool people into thinking aliens are landing in UFOs. That campaign would involve hoaxing, bluffing and double bluffing the public and investigators. Of course there's the possibility that both could be wholly or partly true - in any mixture you'd prefer. We can anyway suspect, like Jacques Vallee said: "Somebody is going to an awful lot of trouble to convince the world that we are threatened by beings from outer space." - A2 - As for the `Space Phenomena' seen in NASA photos and films (archived by Martyn Stubbs), again the evidence is overwhelming and this time the possible conclusions are maybe less opposed: i) that those `space phenomena' - craft or beings - actually `live' in space and are merely curious about Earth and the activities of Earth-life; ii) that they - beings or craft - are travelers or even vehicles, and that Earth is a `way-station' of sorts (there are implications maybe following on from that). footnote 4 - see Birdsall / Stubbs `Smoking Gun' video and its follow-up at www.perceptions.couk.com/ufo-uap.html#yu-tu --- Q3 - "What are your views on this subject generally" - A1 - If you'd asked ten or more years ago I would've replied "Don't know enough about it, and besides, I'm not interested" but after looking at the written and film evidence, like Dr Richard Haines' casebook of hundreds of documented aircrew sightings, many available in the Black Box Cockpit Recordings video, and the Graham Birdsall - Martyn Stubbs `Smoking Gun' video and its follow-up, I'm now fairly sure of some the answers already given (above), even if I do give sets of alternatives. And I'm almost certain that something else is going on. If all the evidence is weighed equally there would seem to be different agendas being followed by different groups, and, you-never-know, maybe even by non-Earth groups. About "billing" - think there's no such thing as a `UFO expert', if only because they're all still bloody `unknown' or `unidentified'. I'm an ex-army `trouble-shooter' (technical and systems `fault-finder' in UK military terms) and maybe now think of myself as an impartial analyst of information generally - the tax people have me down as a self-employed `information analyst' or `information consultant', can't remember which. Maybe check www.perceptions.couk.com/world1.html and linked www.perceptions.couk.com/mead.html for background and don't get the popular impression of a gung-ho military type - - almost the opposite: worked four years in Italy as a NATO instructor, merging fairly well in the staff of the Italian Scuola Aeronautica + fellow NATO civilian teachers - and they held onto me longer than the two year max. of UK's NATO postings (think they told London I was involved with a local girl and needed time to arrange a wedding or somesuch - only partly true). What's your own history? - looked you up and it said you `became interested' in UFOs quite early but didn't go into too much detail.
