        Former detective admits downloading child porn

        A former detective sergeant who served 20 years in the
        Metropolitan Police is facing jail after pleading
        guilty to child pornography charges.

        Hugh Davies, prosecuting, said the investigator's premises
        in Grange Road, Thornton Heath, south-east London, were
        searched by police and his computer seized.

        "On examination there was evidence that he had been
        surfing the Internet on a dedicated basis for images of
        young boys of a sexual nature," he said.
