FLIGHT TRAUMA
   BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Thailand will offer free treatment to
   travelers afflicted by "economy class syndrome" on flights in 
   and out of the country if they participate in a government study.
  
   The research will be launched next month to find specific 
   preventative measures for deep vein thrombosis disease, Dr. 
   Somchai Bowornkit, an adviser to the Department of Medical 
   Services, told The Associated Press on Thursday.

   Researchers will interview visitors 40 years old and above. Those
   traveling on long flights such as from Europe and North America 
   will be of special interest, he said, particularly those with 
   cardiovascular disease, diabetes or varicose veins. The disease is
   called "economy class syndrome" because it is caused by clots in
   blood vessels from sitting idly in a cramped condition for a long
   period - a situation most often experienced by economy class 
   travelers.

   1 Flight trauma is not a 'disease - (as a gunshot wound is not a
   'disease')

   2 Gov't or big-business influenced-media are spinning a deceptive
   name for a non-existent "disease" 

   3 The cause cannot simply be "sitting idly in cramped conditions
   for a long period". If it had been - bus passengers, school
   children, business-people, academics, and even TV watchers would
   be showing similar effects disproportionately - They don't.
