LIMITED INQUIRIES
Results of much-hyped `trials' of three GM crops have just
been published. But don't expect any useful information about 
dood-safety or their effects on wild-life.

Why not?

The trials did not measure those factors - only the effects of
the weed-killers used with the crops.

Carefully, the scientists have avoided checking any long-term
toxicity in GM crops, avoided checking cross-pollination and
gene-uptake in other crops, or by weeds and even by wild-life.

All organic beings continually absorb genes in the environment,
(some very simple forms of life use this practice as a major
evolutionary ploy).

So if any of the bacteria say, or even a larger life-form (a 
human maybe?) were to absorb a _new_ type of DNA never before
seen on Earth - what would happen?

Nobody knows! And that's the problem.
