Market Forces Regressive (and wasteful) Cycle of Events ------------------------------------------------ A `frontier state' has free resources and free space, therefore "market forces" create `competition' and `democracy'. In time it becomes a `settled state' with _no_ free resources and _no_ free space, therefore "market forces" will consolidate `ownership' into monopolies: of money, land and political power - leading to the elimination of democracy. Owners of `monopolies' become `aristocracy' - system then ossifies. Another (internal or external) group sees the ossified system as morally disgusting, or as easy-pickings. Either way - it takes over. The new group develops as a "frontier state". And the cycle continues. ----------------------- "Market Forces" are always wasteful, always tend to weakening of democracy (moving to slavery), and always over-exploit scarce resources, resulting in `famines' and `crashes' and deprivation of the poor. We see this throughout history and around us today. But eventually unregulated `market forces' always kill those who've made corrupt use of privilege.
