Below: East of bay, arriving at the small hill and looking down, there are the flat rocks, where seal families sun themselves in mid-winter.
Below: West across the bay can be seen the low hills of Garth's Ness stretching out to sea [to the left].
Beyond Garth's Ness is Fitful Head, generating a vapour cap above.
Wind is blowing from slightly south of west.
Below: After walking west over the watershed - the backbone of Garth's Ness - crossing and following the third stream to seawards - South.
This brings us eventually to the waterfall dropping into the inlet beside Fitful Head.
Hillside behind and to left lifts up out of frame, to the lower flanks of Fitful Head.
Below: Stand quietly above the waterfall and look over the edge to find a hopeful cormorant.
S/he is looking for dinner in the waters of the "cauldron".
Below: High tide filling up the "cauldron". Most of its teeth are now underwater.
POV - above waterfall.
Fitful Head is to the right, and goes higher.
Above : Tide is lower, gulls and fulmars look for food.
[lots more birds are invisible - out of focus]
Higher POV - partway up cliff.
