"One law for the rich - another for the poor" During "Midday News" on Radio "5L" presenter Allan Robb considered a case where a millionaire was allowed to remain free (he was eventually found guilty of murder) because he paid £37,000 for security - to stop him absconding while on bail. Robb's guest was Malcolm Fowler, chairman of the English Law Society's criminal law committee, Robb asked "Surely, it looks like one law for the rich and another for the poor?" Fowler replied "Well it is, isn't it? Countrywide."
