Subject: Dimbleby's shifting "political correctness" Date: Sun, 05 Mar 2000 22:53:54 +0000 To: Feedback Hello, from your last postbag it seems like a lot of people are objecting to J Dimbleby's new-found "liberal" political correctness. It might (or might not) surprise them to know that, when a hard right-wing government was in power, Dimbleby's "political correctness" veered hard-right. See a record from about ten years ago, at www.perceptions.couk.com/violence.html where Dimbleby was heard defending police racism and brutality, falsely claiming as a defence a police need to counter "ever-increasing violence". Luckily most listeners to that "Any Answers" programme agreed with me and disagreed with J Dimbleby, thereby rebuking J Dimbleby's then right-wing "political correctness". I sincerely doubt that you will be allowed to quote this, or the Web reference, since they illustrate some shady BBC practices of misuse of power - deceit, plagiarism, nepotism and political cowardliness.
